The Safer Transport Northumbria campaign makes crystal clear that anti-social and unwanted sexual behaviour is completely unacceptable on public transport. Everything worked alongside Northumbria Police, Police Commissioner Kim McGuiness and Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland, with the crucial aim of making transport safer and more inclusive for women, girls, and marginalised groups.

A comprehensive range of touchpoints were utilised including advertising on public transport networks throughout North East England, social media, and via digital display ads and mobile location targeting. The campaign was praised by the client as being ‘A vibrant approach to a serious subject’ and was a finalist for ‘Not for Profit Campaign of the Year’ in the North East Marketing Awards 2022.

Thanks to all of the public transport providers who offered their support and opinions which informed the campaign, Sam at Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland, Heidi, Tracy, Adrian, Victoria, Ben, Abbi and the team at the office of Northumbria PCC.
